What we collect
On the marketing site (consignly.org): There is no account sign-up, no contact form, and no intentional collection of personal data on the page itself. Hosting infrastructure may automatically process technical data (for example IP address, browser type, date and time of request) in server or platform logs for security and reliability. GitHub’s handling of that data is described in GitHub’s privacy statement.
On the Consignly platform: When you register as a seller, we collect:
- Your name and email address
- Your mobile phone number, used to send one-time passcodes (OTPs) for account verification and login, and transactional SMS notifications related to your consigned items
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Verify your identity and secure your account via SMS one-time passcodes
- Send you transactional SMS notifications when your consigned items sell at gear swap events or when action is needed on your listings
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Consignly platform
- Comply with applicable law
We do not use your phone number for marketing or promotional messages.
SMS communications and third-party providers
To deliver SMS messages, we use Twilio, Inc. as our SMS infrastructure provider. Your phone number is transmitted to Twilio solely for the purpose of sending you messages you have consented to receive. Twilio’s privacy practices are described at twilio.com/en-us/legal/privacy.
To opt out of SMS messages at any time, reply STOP to any message from Consignly. To request help, reply HELP. Message and data rates may apply.
We do not sell your phone number or any other personal information to third parties.
Cookies and similar technologies
This marketing site does not set its own analytics or advertising cookies. Fonts may load from Google Fonts; Google’s terms and privacy practices apply to that request. You can read more at Google’s Privacy Policy.
Data retention
We retain your account information, including your phone number, for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us via the Consignly GitHub repository.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us via the Consignly GitHub repository. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
This site and platform are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy when the site or platform changes. The effective date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
